Magic came out late Saturday morning and most of us thought she turned back around and never rigged, but I've been hearing now that she dumped. Lucky Charms did tip twice; and I think Sweet Corn toppled in the afternoon. All in all, Saturday was some of the worst carnage I've seen in awhile; lots of capsizes. And for the first time this summer, the big sea nettles were out.
I would say another G-Cup weekend lowlight was that fat, yellow Bertram Amaretto from Baltimore that purposely kicked an Ocean City-sized surf on the entire fleet Sunday, all the while flipping us the bird. If that's not the worst Rodney you've ever seen, I'd like to know what was. Lark took the worst of it, shipping on a ton of water and suffering a significant mast crack from the impact. The guy knew exactly what he was doing, too -- he intentionally ignored all the chase boats that approached trying to get him to slow down, and nearly ran over one.
He probably got home and beat up a litter of kittens.
thanks will, I believe i saw that guy roaring through the fleet. I was all the way abck with spirit and bird so i didnt see all the excitement. plus on saturday i was knee deep in wet shemarys!
I've got the results and will try to finish them tomorrow, i dont have enough info tonight
enjoy this video though...
Well why use a 5 gallon bucket, when you have a trash can and know how to use it...
John-- diggin on the music.
I am going to ask my friend for his empty RPG launcher, maybe if one of the boats has it on board they can aim it at the Rodney's (gasholes) that come plowing through the courses. They may slow down when they see something other than a middle finger and yellow caution lights aimed at them.
when my grandfather was racing oliversgift, a powerboat came flying by and snapped both her masts in half....Judge North had the case and low and behold, she got new masts courtesy of a typical Miles River Rodney. For some reason we don't have good luck with our masts?
We are looking for any photos picturing the yellow Bertram Amaretto plowing through the fleet. Does anyone have them? Can you please ask around? They would be very helpful to some people ...
Yeah, already found that last Monday and pinned down the boat information. But talking to someone involved with the situation yesterday, and photos would really help... I'm asking around.
